I am using this panel to power the lights, phones, sewing machines and other small electronic devices in the Snowbird "craft hut" near Yuma AZ. It is paired with a small Renogy charge controller and 70ah AGM battery. Out of the box, I was impressed by the sturdiness and quality of this panel, from the perfect joint in the aluminum frame to the neatly coiled wires, waiting for me to install the termination of my choice. I soldered a longer wire to access the charge controller inside the cabin. Outside, the panel rests freely on the cabin, so I can move it throughout the day to get the best solar energy collection. Even though it is the winter solstice, this place has plenty of sunshine, which can fully charge my day of sewing, handicrafts and listening to music. I really like the size of the panel, it's easy to move, sturdy and attractive.

Powerful small panel! A depleted but healthy 7.5 amp-hour battery will be fully charged in approximately 3 hours. 25 watts per bit, 30 watts under perfect conditions. The panel is small, but it can definitely output the available power. The step-down converter shown in the example boosts the voltage from 20 volts to 13.8 volts from the panel and supplies power to a small 12-volt inverter to light up a 120-volt, 15-watt incandescent bulb. The light bulb looks orange in the photo, but since the photo was taken in full sunlight, it actually emits a bright white color. The second picture shows two 12-volt car bulbs connected in parallel, also powered directly by the panel. The bulb is bright white and very hot. Use a solar charge controller, as this may charge a normal car battery after about 3-4 days in full sunlight.

I got this to supplement my 10W panel, which will definitely output the advertised wattage under direct sunlight. In very dark and cloudy conditions, it can still control a few watts of power, which is very useful for keeping small electronic devices running. Installation is also very easy.

So far so good. Use it to charge the battery of the door opener. Due to the large number of trees and my limited sunlight exposure, I need something more powerful than the 5-watt panel that comes with most corkscrews. It only ran for a few days, but I believe I will never run out of juice.
