i bought this to go motorcycle camping. Motorcycle camping is like backpacking without all the walking. Very limited space to pack. Take what you really need, and leave the rest at home. I bought this really more for the mess kit, than the stove, but the price for the mess kit with the stove vs without it, was only a few dollars. I thought it worth the gamble. Mess kit is good, works fine. spoon, a little flimsy but functional. the stove was the surprise, since I eat a lot of prepared foods, canned soups, dehydrated backpacking food, coffee, etc. it is mostly heating things up and boiling things. I did use the stove for this purpose it works great. Boils a cup of water in a couple of minutes on medium. I would not try to use it to hold a 10" cast iron frying pan for cooking a steak, or boiling an 8 quart pot of birria stew. If you want to do that buy a coleman and don't complain about this small convenient backpacker kit.

One of the great concerns with camping gear is not getting the right thing the first time and having to purchase another something else that does almost the same thing but does it much better. This is the camping cookware mess kit you want to buy the very first time. You can use it to hike, camp, cook, heat coffee, etc.. This is something I wish I had bought first before trying the others camping stove solutions. It started very easily and heated water up very quickly (use lid). I was impressed. The fact that I could easily pack it down with the fuel inside was wonderful. Space saving is critical when hiking!

hiked the NJ portion of the appalachian trail with my son. needed ultralight solution to stove. all we needed was to heat up water for dehydrated food. this was perfect. The only thing I'd like to see is markers on the pots for one cup, two cup, and three cup indicators so it's easier to measure out water.
