    All homes should have these. And we should keep them in our cars and bags and purses and backpacks, etc. These already do and will continue to save lives!! You never know when you may be cut off from drinking water and it's the one thing we must have at all times to survive...we can manage without everything else for a time....

    Property has a well that has been chlorinated. Not sure about bacterial count so always use the life straw when drinking this water. Lasts a long time. When getting water through the straw requires more sucking effort, this indicates filter is clogging up with "stuff" and should be replaced with a new one.

    I bought and used the product on my 1st backpacking/ bushcraft trip. It worked great with no issue. However, as I have learned more there are much better filtering devices out there. I still have this item and it poop ever hits the fan I know I will have drinking water.

    I am going to keep this one simple. Recently I got stranded in the back woods of the Adirondack Mountains. I had ran out of water earlier on the first day and used this until I was rescued on the morning of day three. THIS WORKS, this helped save my life. If you hike YOU NEED THIS PRODUCT.

    We took these to Costa Rica just in case we were not near any normal water source. We ended up not needing them bc Costa Rica has their water game on lockdown.

    As a survivor of the apocalypse, I can testify that these straws are great in a pinch. After the event, fresh water was becoming harder and harder to find. As I am in the Midwest, I had the opportunity to use this at an old, stagnant, cattle watering hole.

    The only thing I will say it that you cannot use it in muddy or very dirty water because the dirt will immediately clog the filter making it impossible to suck up water.

    I fill a wide topped water bottle with water from a running stream, and drank it out of the bottle through this straw. All I can say is, I'm still hiking! So it must work, or of course it may be that the stream was not contaminated, I didn't test the water so I have no idea. I've used it several times already, but always on water that looked clean to me. This is now part of my regular hiking pack, and I do recommend it.

    It worked as expected, but is slow and tedious. The trip I went on only had one water source that I visited once a day, and filled up bottles to be sucked through the life straw throughout the day. i would have been better served with a pump filter and will be buying one soon.

    I will update if I need to use these (I bought them for emergency when camping). However, something I wish to note upon is the size of these; they are about a foot long and the diameter of a half dollar this defeats any point of packing light, but hopefully they will work as intended.
