No doubt there are less expensive multimeters, but if you want true quality for a device that will last a LONG time, spend the extra money and get a Fluke

Easy to sue and accurate but importantly it is lightweight and about 1,2 the size of similar devices. Consequently it fits well into a tool bag and is easily stored. Using it for a boat where storage space is limited. it is a great size and no sacrifice of capability or accuracy.

You may need to reset it again a few minutes later. if you don't press reset button long enough you may switch it back to ac without realizing it. poor ergonomics for this task and unstable calibration.

This is a good overall meter. Durable and accurate. I chose this particular one because it has an option to check the frequency of the voltage. This comes in handy at work along with the "Beep" feature when checking continuity.

Nice meter for control work, reads mA and Hz. Expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for, and I have no desire to have an accident or perform poor quality work because of faulty readings.

Voltage readings bounced around randomly and continuously by up to a max of about a quarter of a volt while measuring a circuit, or even when the probes are sitting unconnected in air.
