I am a military combat veteran, so I have a lot of experiance with night vision. This is a Gen 1 analog low light device with a classic green display as you would see in the military. For a Gen 1 this is an outstanding buy. Most Gen 1 night visions will have a small spot or 2 in them which is natural, and so did mine. The clarity is way beyond what I could have expected out of older technology like this. With two focal lenses, one in the front and rear, you can dial in for a very crisp picture. The field of view is a little narrow, but it made clear that it would be being a monocular. If you are wondering which night vision to purchase, stop looking and start buying this before it sells out.

Well made monocular utilizing 1st gen light amplifier tube. Very effective in near dark conditions and has a useful ir illuminator for total dark conditions. The large objective lens contributes greatly to the effectiveness! The restricting lens cap is also very useful in brighter conditions. There are two tiny L.E.D lights to tell you when the night vision power is on and the ir illuminator is on. The tube continues to function for a few minutes after power is off. Objective lens is focused independently of the eyepiece lens and both must be adjusted to achieve the greatest clarity. Altogether, I am pleased with the performance of this night vision scope and it is well worth the purchase price.

For the low price of this product this is an exceptional gen 1 NVD. Had a half moon and I could easily see out on my back farm 400 yards and identify coyotes and deer. I paired it with a Streamlight XTAC IR floodlight flashlight and this NVD became even more impressive and crisp. Much clearer in person than the photo form my LG phone looking down the tube. That house is 150 yards away.

It's the first night vision unit that I've owned and it works as described. You have to remember that it has two focus methods; the end one for general clarity and eye one for fine tuning. Once you master this it's amazing. The infra-red light is equally incredible. Well worth the price. DCR

i have owned a few night vision monoculars in my security business and have always stayed with the mid to lower range products becauseof the abuse they endure in the field. My first impression of this Firefield is quite good.. I tried it in about a 25 acre field and I was amazed at the clarity and range. I can really appreciate the 5 Power. How it with stands my abuse has not been proven,but I do recommend this lower endproduct right now.

I quite enjoy this monocular. It sees quite well at night, especially during a full moon, however a full moon is not essential to this working. The max range that I've seen in pitch black is about 200 meters. Under a full moon's light, it's much further than that. It is a Gen 1 NVD, so it's not the clearest visual, but is well worth the price.

I was a little skeptical after reading some reviews, but then noticed that several people haven't figured out how to use it, so I took the plunge. Glad I did. I would be shocked if you could find better value. Absolutely fantastic for the price. I could clearly see objects over a hundred yards away. Very satisfied.

The unit arrived on time and is in good condition. Read the manual to understand the functions and controls. Learning them is not difficult, but it will save time and frustration. The building seems very strong. The fit and finish met my expectations. I pay special attention to night vision. A large wooden nest box hung on a tree in my backyard for the Oriental Screech Owl. Since the screech owl only hunts at night, I need night vision to see coming and going because I have a pair of nests in the box. I like the fact that I can see owls in and out of the box in the dark.

The structure is very good and it feels very strong. I have seen more expensive models and think it is just right in terms of price, quality and performance. It is a bit heavy and the screen is very bright (the option to darken the screen would be great). In addition, we are very satisfied with this device and look forward to getting dark early in autumn and winter, and we can conduct some serious animal observations at night.

My husband used to be in the army. He used to use night glasses and wanted a camping trip. We had camped at a campsite before and witnessed a bear there, so this will help us see more clearly in the dark. Now we do not have to worry about becoming prey, we can also become predators. He said these were as efficient and clear as what he used in the army. Another advantage is that it has a 32 GB storage space that can capture all your night images and videos!
