These crimps weren't functioning correctly. The crimp dies didn't fit into the jaws as they should. Every crimp I made, even with reliable connectors, came loose when I tugged on the wires.

I had a hard time getting the ratcheting mechanism to release. It's really stiff and needs several squeezes just to crimp a small insulated splice. I just got it today.

The crimps don't stay in place. It's not hard to pull the crimped connector off the end. I wouldn't recommend it. I bought it a while back and just tried it out today. It's not effective.

The first time I used this crimper on an AWG 18 insulated terminal, it was a disaster. The wire just slipped right out of the terminal!

When it arrived, the package had already been sliced open and there were no instructions included. I attempted a few crimps, but the tool crimped so tightly that it sliced through the fitting's insulation. Despite this, the wire still came out with just a slight pull.

I've been doing this for over 10 years and the jaws just don't close tightly enough. All the crimps came loose in over 10 tests. I'm no beginner at this.

It was a real hassle, kept getting stuck. I even tried using WD-40 to help, but it didn't make a difference.

These crimpers do their job, but every time you use them, you have to adjust the rubber handle back into place. It's probably just a defect, but given the price, you'd expect better quality.

It started off great, but after crimping a few 8ga heat shrink terminals, the anvils in the jaws started to loosen and wobble. This misalignment resulted in poor crimps and the ratcheting mechanism getting stuck. I getting the other cheaper version, along with the right tool for 8ga crimps. If you stick to using this for 10ga or smaller, you shouldn't run into any problems.

Honestly, I'm finding more success with needle nose pliers. This tool does crimp the connectors, but not tightly enough.

After about 10 crimps, these started to jam open and I had to shake them to reset and unlock for the next crimp. It's super annoying, especially when you're working in tight spaces like truck dashboards

This is what I bought to crimp fork connectors onto 18-gauge wires. Sadly, at least half of the connectors I've crimped can be easily yanked off. This crimper just doesn't provide a tight enough crimp. I'm planning on returning it.

You can feel your hand slipping with each grip. If you're going to be using these repeatedly, I'd recommend getting a different set. This one will drive you nuts!

Even on the highest setting, it doesn't provide enough leverage to crimp insulated connectors. It practically takes two hands to crimp with it.

The locking mechanism is a pain to deal with. When I'm crimping small gauge wire.In order to open the tool, I need to use a screwdriver to unscrew the lock. The additional parts are poorly labeled, which makes unlocking or opening the tool a time-consuming task.

It works, but I'm not sure for how long. Even after trying to increase the tension, I'm still getting the same results.
