I've paired this with my kokanee black rod for now. I used it for some trolling for Kokanee and trout but recently I've just been using it as a second rig that I leave an in line weight on for fishing off the bottom. It works well for this, I've caught 5 or 6 fish with it over a few trips to the river. The construction feels good, although a lot of it is plastic, as expected at this price point. That does make it very light weight though. It also runs very smoothly. I doubt it will last as long as a more expensive one might, but this one works well and has the features you want at a price that's not too hard to swallow for someone who's not sure how much money they want to sink into fishing.

I had been wanting to try a baitcaster reel for years. I own 5 new ones I've never used. this one sparked me into giving it a shot, and I was amazed at how easy this reel was to cast. I set the spool spin to where the crank bait i was using had a slow controlled fall and stopped spinning when the lure hit the ground. in this instance that was setting 11. I then made several cast and retrieves without a single issue. NO BACKLASH that all the horror stories are told when using a bait caster. I was pleasantly surprised. I really like this reel, and because of how easy this was to use, I am now going to get out my new baitcaster reels and give them all a shot. First time baitcaster users I highly recommend this reel. I don't have the experience with Baitcasters to compare it with other reels. so forexperienced baitcaster users all I can say is this reel made a me baitcaster fisherman !

I didn’t get to do much bass fishing with this reel before I really put it to the test. It casts much better than anticipated. This little reel is quite adjustable and was pretty good for me, even though I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to casting bait caster reelsDecided to test it again some bait reels while fishing for catfish. It held its own quite well. The drag on this is powerful. Very pleased with this purchase.

Very good reel. Comparable to high end reels. I figured it was worth a shot and glad I bought it. I had been looking for a cheap but good reel to take kayaking with me. This one is very easy to use. No bird nesting. Casts and reels smooth. I’ll keep you all updated over the next few months.

I bought it on sale as a backup reel to my higher end Daiwa, Shimano reels but it has worked its way to my everyday lineup. It doesn't cast super far but far enough, and it is very palmable, very smooth, rarely bird-nest. It just works. Don't know about its long term reliability, but for last half a year, I have no complaints.

There is absolutely nothing not to like about this reel. While not the lowest profile in my collection it is plenty comfortable. It casts as good as my Casitas with no tendency to backlash whatsoever. I bought this for my wife to learn on but I can certainly see one of these in my future. The crank and drag star are nicely bent making it easy to retrieve. The gold accents along with the gloss black side plates and matt black frame make it easy to look at as well. All in all a a 10 out of 10 for a reel this at this price point.
