I have rechargeable batteries and I don't know when to charge them until it's too late. This will help me. I can't say much. The tester is easy to use (for the most part), and even easier to read. It's really as easy as plugging in the battery and letting it do it. The two issues I have are that it's cheap to make. While it works, I don't expect it to last for years. Another thing is that there are no springs on the slides. Without it, the battery slides out easily because there is no pressure to hold it in place.

For the price, I don't mind being flimsy, it takes the guesswork out of battery health. It does require hands-on testing IMHO. A 9v battery is the easiest to test since you don't need the caliper function. One small question - why is the red "replacement" band so wide compared to the good green band?

While it works pretty well, it can be a little unwieldy with some of the smaller batteries, but with a little practice you can line everything up and get a reading. Another thing is that this is a very domestic device. Its manufacturing cost is very low. In heavy use applications it might not last long, but for home use it should last forever if you don't throw it away.

It sounds like this tester is accurate, but the quality of the materials and construction is lacking. The plastic housing doesn't seem very durable and there are some issues with the battery connection. The reviewer notes that they don't expect it to last very long and they would spend more money on a more durable tester in the future. They also mention that the price reflects the quality, so it's a case of "you get what you pay for".
