    I have used high-precision sound measurement equipment in the past, and of course they are quite expensive. This unit is very low cost and has done a reasonable job with its cost. It measures the total sound pressure level over the indicated bandwidth. It does not give the sound level of the selectable band in any way. The accuracy has not been measured, but based on my previous experience with more sophisticated equipment, it seems reasonable. I use it to measure the noise of an airplane during landing and take-off to determine if it is worth studying the issue more closely. This unit can "give you a general understanding of the situation", but I suspect that it is not suitable for use in certain professional contexts. Overall, its price is very good.

    I want a sound level meter that can capture peak noise like rifle shooting. Many lower-priced companies stated that they only measured average levels. This is used to measure the shot noise level, and its effect is very good. Just open it, click Min/Max, and it will start storing the minimum and maximum values. After the event of interest occurs, press min/max to display the maximum peak value, press min to display the minimum and minimum values, press min/max again to clear the previous maximum level and minimum level, and the device returns to the minimum/maximum measurement mode again . This device is very convenient to use, and the readings seem to be very accurate.

    A meter maid in a monkey outfit accused my son of excessive noise when he emitted exhaust gas in the suburbs. We must talk to the local police chief. We showed him the document provided by the manufacturer, which stated that the Flowmaster would be less than 81db (the law allows up to 95 dB.), and used the flowmeter to prove that the suburban flowmeter produces 80db at 2k rpm. The police officer replied: "I don't know what she is thinking." Saved more than $300 in court fees and provided bragging rights.

    I bought this dB noise meter to check if my wife really does yell at me in a loud tone of voice...yep!!! . And her snoring Daggon!!! I measured that at 100 dB! She now believes me and it has saved our marriage. :  I recommend this to everyone!

    Excellent and easy to use. Professional electric meters are only one decibel, which can be higher or lower depending on the specific situation. Even professional instruments are different. It's great to have such a good box.

    I use it to monitor the volume of a live concert mix. I prefer to monitor in DBA, so a unit with only one option is no problem for me. I need something with backlighting because I am tired of the old analog SPL monitors that I use without backlighting. When compared with the other two SPL monitoring handheld devices, I arranged them perfectly. This is perfect if you need a simple unit to monitor the sound pressure level.

    When a tennant thinks you' re a crazy b and c for asking that they adjust music between 2-5 am to. reasonable level you get the tools that prove the noise isn' t at a responsible level. i' m all about facts vs feelings
