We recently purchased this for our 6 YO son, who had also recently started drum lessons. Though it is not a real drum kit, it's something very useful for him to practice basics and keep up his practicing. It's a no-brainer to set up and use, it has great batter life, stores great, and the built in speakers do the job they need to without being as loud as a real acoustic kit. Also, their customer service was awesome as well. At some point I misplaced the pedals for this kit and reached out to customer service. They were extremely prompt and helpful and offered to send me a replacement set, but I lucked out and found the missing pedals anyway. HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone interested in getting started in drumming!

Our 19 month old grandson loves, loves, loves this. Unlike a stationary drum set, we can move this anywhere. He can use his drumsticks or his hands. We love playing with it, too. Light, easy to carry and store.

He's never played before ..But showed an interest in drums. Since they live in an apartment a regular set probably not a good idea lol. It has a headphone jack so that he can play whenever he wants And loves it

I bought this for my wife who was convinced she wanted to learn to play drums. Now that she knows it isn't easy, I am glad to have purchased this instead of a $500 beginner's drum kit. She may stick with it, may not, but the overall investment was a wise one, allowing her to explore the possibilities without breaking the bank. The sound quality is surprisingly good. Although the speaker is quite small, it delivers a quality sound at a respectable volume. It is loud enough to be heard throughout the house without disturbing the neighbors and can be turned down (but, really, what's the point of that?) so that only the player can hear. I do wish the pads had been labelled so that we knew what drum was what, but that is a minor complaint.
