I seldom write reviews, but felt compelled to write one for this product given the fact that there is inaccurate information in other reviews here. I bought this product despite several negative reviews because I figured, for the price, it's hard to go wrong. I'm glad I did.First off, several reviews complain that it takes a long time to lock onto a GPS signal on startup. Maybe I got a good one, but it only took about 20 seconds to lock onto a GPS signal when I started it up. Just wait (stationary) until you get a GPS signal and you'll be fine.Second of all, the app for this device does display miles and MPH without the device being on, despite the reviews. I don't know if they updated the app or not, but I had no trouble viewing my ride in the app in miles and MPH, which is what I'm accustomed to.Third, I just wanted to mention that the app synced my ride up with Strava very quickly and effortlessly.Today was my first time using this device, but unless things change I am EXTREMELY happy with this device. Great purchase!

Love this bike GPS because it's so easy to use and mount. The Pros: affordable, rechargeable, backlit, easy-to-read, tracks speed, and minimal design, good form factor, no wheel magnets or sensors to mount. The Cons: the unit does sometimes take a while to locate a satellite signal so turn it on and press the button to locate satellite when you are pumping up your tires, by the time you get outside to ride it should be connected and ready to go. Also the mounting bracket that came with it clicks in but is slightly loose so it rattles. I used a bit a of foam tape between the rubber plate and mounting bracket and that solved it the fit issue and rattling for about 4 rides, then the rattling sound came back. I bought a Garmin brand mount and that solved it for good.

This computer does everything that I can ask for, while being completely wireless. It provides speed which is pretty accurate, I know because it was the same as one of those digital speed limit radars. Additionally, the app that is provided with the XOSS shows the route over a google map layer, has average speed, elevation gain and lots of other features. The only features I really need with a simple bike computer is speed, time and mileage which this has all of it. Additionally, it can mount onto Garmin bike mounts in which I use the stem front mount. I have even biked in the rain with it and it has held up. The only downside is that when you want to look at your activity log in the app, the computer needs to be on and connected in order to have U.S. metrics. If it’s off, it’ll only show in kilometers. Also, I have found that there is a bit of a lag if you are moving while starting the gps or when changing modes mid-ride. For example, going from the time/mile screen to gradient.

The XOSS tells my progress on rides; current MPH, Mileage or Average MPH.I could not tell how my "workout" rides were progressing by looking at a phone app after the ride. And on "workout rides" which are laps, I no longer have to count laps. I know by mileage how many are complete and how many to go.With the XOSS, I can see my current MPH and where the speed drops below my limit, then time to pedal harder. It was fun checking my data on Strava which the XOSS links to and watch my improvement. On "up & back" rides, easy to see how much is complete or left.Help from XOSS is furnished quickly via Facebook messenger. And the Facebook XOSS community is fun to be part of. I have made riding friends in Mexico, Philippines and more, as we share our rides. The XOSS FB community is filled with super friendly people, no trolling and no other garbage.
