I really liked this cassette but I had a difficult time finding a modern derailleur to work with it and be compatible with my 22 year old shifter.I used an extension piece to mount my derailleur further out to clear the 42T sprocket but I kept having issues with the chain derailing when pedaling backwards. To make it work you need a modern 1:1 SRAM shifter to go with your an old derailleur. You'll have to Google your exact situation cause it can get tricky. On the plus side I never disliked the lower gearing or had issues with the widely spaced gear ratios.

I was using only 32t before now I can climb hill I never was able to before. And as you can see my old cheap derailleur works.

Nice cassette and looks swell too! Don't have much mileage on it yet. will update only if there's a quality issue in that regard. If you are upgrading from a smaller cassette be aware you'll need a derailleur extender to keep the idler from bumping into the larger diameter outer gear. They aren't expensive and easy to install. Might need a little longer chain as well.

I added this to my Tern Link D8 folding bike mated with a 47T chainring on the front to handle short, steep hills on my daily commute. For steep, 12% inclines, this combination does the job of a standard 11-28t cassette combined with a triple crank set, but with the simplicity of a 1x8 setup. I did need to change out my rear derailleur to a long cage by sram to accommodate the range. In my case, I did not need to add links to my chain.
