Solid, lightweight and works.. Recommend pre cleaning tubing as you would a camel back (rinse/soak with lemon juice and bicarbonate soda) to remove some of the plastic taste. Which is the only taste you get after filtering from some pretty honking sources. Wish I had one sooner. Saves so much dependency on static water sources. Saves carrying excess water. (Normally wildcamp with at least 6litres for two people per day). That's a lot of weight when your tabbing about. Not to mention the movement to each source.

I've owned this filter for 4 years and have used it on countless backpacking trips across the United States. I feel like its easy to use and the flow rate is pretty good. The taste is always crisp, although I haven't tried it on the nastiest water I've seen. I totally trust this filter. Recently, I had an issue with a seal during pumping and some of the water/air would get pushed back instead of through the correct way. I reached out to their customer service about the issue and asked for a specific part to fix it. They replaced the whole filter for free (with a very quick turnaround even during a time when many supply chains are inhibited!), even though they couldn't find records of my purchace. They hold to their lifetime guarantee and don't put up a fuss. I definitely recommend this filter.

This filter works as advertised - at least as well as filtering out all coliform bacteria. I personally tested this filter with water pumped from an irrigation pond/ hazard at the local golf course. This pond had surrounding trees and grasses inhabited by birds and other critters. I made the assumption that the water contained coliform bacteria but not other hazardous substances since the water contained numerous pollywogs and "water skeeters". It required 50 strokes to fill a pint-sized plastic water bottle. I purchased a "PurTest Home Water Analysis" kit from Amazon and tested this "purified" water. The test results included a negative or zero response on the following: Chlorine, Copper, Iron, Lead, Nitrites, pesticides, and, no coliform bacteria. This filter transformed "dirty" wildlife-inhabited pond water into clean, potable water. I didn't test the pond water to determine content because the Question to be answered was: Using this "purification filter - means 0.01 micron pore size - can I get potable water from a dirty pond source. Answer was yes. I'm very satisfied with this filter and have recommended to my friends that they have one of these available should a Major Event occur that interrupts the city water supply for an extended period - 2 weeks and more.

Bought this as hiking camping filter for the family, and as prepping emergency filter unit. Had to wait for so a little over a month since it was sold out, but a really excellent product and worth the wait. Have not tried it in really dirty water or anything, and Im hoping I never have to - but here's what I likeVery sturdy, high-quality build - I'll admit I was expecting it to be more "plasticky" but is very solid. I also like the case cover it comes with, makes it easy to just throw in a bag. Price performance ratio unbeatable - was expecting to have to settle for lower filtration performance as I didn't want to splash out on the more expensive products  brands, but fortunately I discovered this product in time. Took the opportunity to buy some replacement filters, particularly the carbon filter I well expect to use a few of (they last 2000 l acc to specs, whereas the UFs last 100000 l. Could potentially backflush and clean the carbon filter units but Im not taking any chances, at least not when the replacement filters are a reasonable 15.

Does exactly as promises. My local river water came out clear and virtually tasteless. The carbon filter will need replacing many times before the other two filters run out but still impressive for the carbon filter to last 2000 litres.I also use an additional ziploc bag to isolate the inlet and outlet tubes to eliminate any possible contamination.Flow rate is good and the design is light and robust, the clear cover/cup could do with measurements.Treat it well and it will last a lifetime.Highly recommended.

So unless this malfunctions soon this was worth the buy. Anyone complaining just return it for another one and quit whining thank you. I believe the product is life time. The pump doesnt come close to acting up unless you man handle it. I was also able to filter out 1 gallon in less than 10mins, not 45 mins. That would be a bit ridiculous. Worst part was my knees were killing me, balancing on that tree. I have only used it a few times but it was worth it. I first tried it out in Arizona in one of those showy neighborhood fountains in 110degree weather. Pictures show how nasty the water was. They do pump the fountain full of chemicals, garbage was floating around due to the storm, and the water was green. The second one was in a less rural area out in the woods in an animal infested pond. It was a creek but hey its Arizona. Creeks and rivers don't last long. The water was clear and tasted great. I didnt even need the liquid Gatorade additive. Something you'd need for havasupai water, or arrowhead (arrowhead is disgusting sorry.) This filter was and still is worth the buy, thanks!

The water purifier works well. The water coming out is clean, odorless, and of good quality. It's small and easy to carry. You don't need to worry about the water quality! The water outlet speed is very fast, which is very suitable for outdoor travel. Recommended to buy

My sons and I used this water filtration system during our recent backpacking trip in the mountains. We camped next to a stream and filtered approximately 10 gallons of water. The filter came with everything needed to give us crystal clear, great tasting water.

Both the pump and extra filter are small, easy to us and fit perfectly in a backpack without taking up too much room or being heavy. I searched all the different pumps/filters and I'm glad I bought this one!

The directions were easy to follow. I'd get about 5-6 pumps before I'd have to put the plastic tube out as it wouldn't pump anymore. Then repeat the process. The filter did work, but not 100%. I did still see some floating things in my water. I plan to save this in case I ever get to a point that I need it.

I live in the high desert. So a filter is great to have on you. Especially if you run out of water. I have yet to use this. Because it will only be used for emergencies, and backpacking. But it looks like a great filter. Definetly worth the money, for a budget filter.
